We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Physiologist to join our Respiratory and Sleep Service at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in respiratory and sleep physiology, with experience in performing lung function tests and diagnostic sleep tests. They will be responsible for assessing investigation requests, checking for contraindications or risks, and assessing patients regarding their fitness to perform tests.
The role also involves providing specialist clinical physiology knowledge within respiratory and sleep, ensuring best principles of care are provided to patients. The post holder will work flexibly, including day and night shifts, depending on demand. Additional training will be provided as required.
Key Responsibilities- Performing a range of basic to complex respiratory investigations, including full lung function testing, bronchodilator reversibility testing, and FENO.
- Providing a full technical analysis and report of results for medical staff, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Independently performing routine, non-routine, and complex sleep investigations, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with sleep disorders.
- Monitoring patients undergoing overnight polysomnography studies and ensuring recordings are of sufficient quality for accurate analysis.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A BSc in Clinical Physiology or a relevant science subject.
- ARTP part 1 and part 2 and/or A-Step.
- Full and detailed knowledge of respiratory/sleep physiology.
- Experience performing lung function tests in the NHS.
- Experience in performing diagnostic sleep tests (oximetry/limited polysomnography, actigraphy, full polysomnography).
This role offers a competitive salary of £54,819 per annum, plus benefits such as pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
