As a key member of our global steel and ferrous raw materials team, we are looking for a talented reporter to join us in this exciting opportunity. Your role will involve applying and developing your skills across daily news reporting, market analysis, features and editorials in a fast-paced environment with the highest standards of journalistic independence and integrity.


You will carry out price assessments on products in the coking coal and steel sectors and write market commentaries and news. With cross-training opportunities and excellent exposure across the wider metals industry, you will learn from our experienced Reporters/Editors and work closely with traders, brokers, industrial groups and other key market participants to build relationships and gather news.


Your responsibilities will include monitoring and assessing markets to produce daily price assessments, market commentaries, news and reports; daily contact with industry executives to build relationships and gather news; contributing copy to relevant daily and periodical publications and the on-line news service; and attending meetings, conferences and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus Media externally.


Key skills and experience include a strong degree and at least 2-3 years reporting experience, proven ability to develop, source and write industry-relevant news to deadline, excellent written, grammatical and numeracy skills, and ability to write engaging content. Excellent communication skills with ability to network and build contacts with industry executives are also required, as well as strong co-ordination and time management skills with the ability to work well within a team.
