**Job Title:** Business and Development Director

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced sales professional to join our client as Head of Business Development. This is a new role for the business, and we are looking for a candidate who has extensive sales experience in the commercial cleaning sector, with a focus on the housing association sector or the tender process for public sector bids.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Oversee the business development function, including creating and maintaining a top 3 to 500 list of targets
  • Manage the existing team, ensuring that everyone is utilized, even during quiet periods, and grow the team as required
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve a target of £1m per annum of new business plus retention
  • Oversee the commission structure for the business, motivating the CMs/CRMs to upsell
  • Be responsible for social media and website marketing
  • Head the bid team/process to ensure early responses
  • Keep an eye on existing customers and look for opportunities for growth and expansion

**Requirements:**

  • Extensive sales experience in the commercial cleaning sector, with a focus on the housing association sector or the tender process for public sector bids
  • Highly motivated and able to set up and manage a sales function for an organization
  • Ability to commute to the company's head office, with accommodation available for those who need it
