Job Title: Legal Secretary, Wills and Probate

At Jameson Legal, we are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our thriving wills, trusts, and probate team in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be working alongside other legal secretaries as part of our close-knit, collaborative team, assisting a specialized group of experienced lawyers and partners with a fantastic reputation in the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting legal documents.
  • Maintain and organize case files, legal records, and correspondences.
  • Manage lawyers' schedules, including calendar management, court dates, appointments, and deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases and libraries to gather information for the team.
  • Assist with billing and accounting tasks, such as filing/tracking billable hours, generating invoices, and processing payments.

Requirements:
  • Must have previous legal secretarial experience gained from a recognized law firm and have demonstrated skills in providing administrative support.
  • Background in supporting teams within wills, trusts, and probate practice.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and other legal research tools.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders.
