Defence Project Risk Manager

Role Overview

As a Defence Project Risk Manager at STR Group Limited, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective identification, evaluation, and treatment of risks across various high-profile defence projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate project threats and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Work closely with Programme and Project Managers to develop a risk culture, influencing decision-making and contributing to successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and prioritize risks.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Deliver risk reporting to senior management and stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Facilitate monthly risk reviews, ensuring ongoing risk management and mitigation.
  • Support ad-hoc requests from customers and programme management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements

  • Proven risk management experience in defence projects and programmes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with experience in cost estimation and financial modelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and lead workshops.
  • Pro-active and dynamic, with strong stakeholder management abilities.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with experience in Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
