About the Role

The Public Health Wales Executive is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Quality and Safety team as an Assistant Quality and Safety Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work on behalf of Welsh Government, providing strong national leadership and strategic direction to support the development of the National Quality & Safety agenda in Wales.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the national systems and processes for National Incident Reporting, working closely with the Quality & Safety Manager to deliver against a range of objectives.
  • Lead on delivering against a range of objectives, including operational day-to-day oversight of the incident management system (Datix), identification of incidents requiring escalation, and development of reporting functionalities.
  • Collate and analyze relevant data to identify and escalate areas of risk, and develop audits and other processes to ensure the system is operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on areas within their remit, and present to groups at all levels.

Requirements

  • Experience of carrying out RCA investigations into complex incidents or complaints, and leading on resolution of complex contentious issues with senior managers and senior clinicians.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex and difficult information to a variety of audiences, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, with high levels of accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Experience of using Datix systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
