About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing therapeutic support to children, young people, and their families, working in partnership with education settings to promote emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with children, young people, and their families on a one-to-one or group basis, using evidence-based interventions to identify needs and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with parents/carers to empower them and enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
  • Work co-operatively with other professionals in children's services, health agencies, and community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people, and families.
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures and report as necessary.

Person Specification

  • Qualification mandatory for practice, where applicable.
  • Awareness of factors impacting on and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and families (disadvantage, poverty, disability).
  • Knowledge of child/young people development.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to service aims.
