About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Moving Mindsets Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Morecambe Bay. As a key member of our team, you will work therapeutically with children and young people in education settings to support their emotional health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic support to children, young people, and their parent-carers on a one-to-one or group basis, using evidence-based interventions to identify needs and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with parents/carers to empower them and enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
  • Collaborate with other professionals in children's services, health agencies, and community-based services to provide the most effective service for children, young people, and families.
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures and report as necessary.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A relevant qualification, such as an NVQ level 4/5, and experience of working with evidence-based therapies in child mental health.
  • Awareness of factors impacting on and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and families, including disadvantage, poverty, and disability.
  • Knowledge of child/young people development and safeguarding, child protection, and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A relevant qualification, at NVQ level 4/5, may meet the above knowledge requirements.
