The role of a General Practice Clinical Pharmacist within Ayrshire is a key part of our commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical audit and patient-facing medication reviews in GP practices, focusing on improving cost-effective prescribing and supporting the Prescription for Excellence agenda.
  • Offering expert advice on prescribing and medicines use in various therapeutic areas and clinical settings to GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Providing guidance to patients and carers on medicines-related issues or treatment of minor ailments, and signposting to other healthcare professionals when necessary.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain, with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Vocational Training (Level 2) or equivalent training experience.
  • Relevant pharmacy experience, particularly in primary care.

Please note that a UK driving licence and car ownership are essential for this position.
