About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our CAMHS team as a Principal Clinical Psychologist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapies to young people and their families.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience in working with young people with complex mental health needs. You will be a skilled communicator and able to build strong relationships with colleagues, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct service work and consultation to colleagues within the clinical team and across other sectors of care.
  2. Develop and implement service developments to ensure patients receive the most appropriate interventions in a timely manner.
  3. Supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists and clinical team members.
  4. Work autonomously within professional and local guidelines and policies, exercising responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service.
  5. Ensure robust risk assessments are completed for all activities off-site and that each young person has an appropriate risk assessment for off-site activities in conjunction with the nursing team.
  6. Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation using RIO on participation in activities and any information relevant to the young person's presentation or identified concerns/risks.
  7. Attend handovers and multi-disciplinary team meetings, providing feedback on patients and participating in decision-making.
