The James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is currently recruiting for a Consultant in Acute Care to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise and excellent communication skills to effectively manage patients under their care. They will work collaboratively with other medical, nursing, and administrative colleagues to provide seamless care pathways.

Main Duties:

  • Provide consultant medical services to patients admitted to the emergency assessment and discharge unit (EADU) and supervise junior doctors involved in patient care.
  • Deliver Rheumatology services for the trust, including running outpatient clinics, supporting specialist nurses, and seeing inpatient referrals.
  • Collaborate with other Consultants to establish mutual out-of-hours cover for Acute and General Internal Medicine and cover annual, study, and professional leave.
