Energy Systems Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Engineer to join our team in Prenton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the control and operation of the electrical networks under normal, outage, and fault situations. They will also be required to manage safety, system integrity, customer service, and coordination of system access while ensuring compliance with ScottishPower Licence. Additionally, they will facilitate change necessary within Customer Services Delivery as the distribution network transitions to Net Zero.
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, ability to form strong working relationships across all business areas and at all levels, proven aptitude for using and developing new IT solutions, and ability to co-ordinate a broad range of complex tasks and devise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and operation of the ScottishPower electrical networks under normal, outage, and fault situations.
- Management of safety, system integrity, customer service, and coordination of system access while ensuring compliance with ScottishPower Licence.
- Facilitate change necessary within Customer Services Delivery as the distribution network transitions to Net Zero.
- Work with new and existing generation partners to utilise flexibility service arrangements and Distribution Restart Zone partnerships.
- Review and investigate system performance following major incidents and faults.
- Provide advice and support on technical matters relating to the network.
- Approve and control all outage and network access requests ensuring risk to network and system security is minimised.
- Co-ordinate outage planning and liaise with internal/external third parties for all network activities.
- Manage customer service proactively and reactively to meet all customer service KPI's.
- Participate in business and organisational change to maintain and/or improve performance, productivity, and service standards.
- Implement Contingency & Emergency Plans, escalate significant incidents throughout the business as required.
- Complete all associated statutory reports and paperwork for Network incidents.
- Monitor CML outage requests to minimise effect on system and targets.
- Support the provision of operational data to ensure operational IT systems are accurate.
- Improve/develop and introduce new processes, procedures, and initiatives.
- Take ownership in objectives to improve safety and customer service culture across the shift team and operations business.
This role requires a HNC with relevant experience or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. The ideal candidate should have previous Control Room knowledge/experience, detailed distribution and/or network knowledge, operational experience, and PowerOn/SCADA experience (advantageous).
