The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Peer Support Worker to join our innovative Community Mental Health Integrated Network Team (MINT). This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide formal peer support and practical assistance to individuals seeking to engage with their local communities and access available resources.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, working across Primary Care Networks to deliver a comprehensive and integrated support structure.
  • Utilize your lived experience of mental health challenges to empower and guide others on their recovery journey.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative peer support programs within the community setting.

Essential Criteria

  • Formal accreditation in peer support training, meeting the competency framework as defined by ImROC.
  • Personal lived experience of mental health distress and firsthand knowledge of accessing primary or secondary mental health services.
  • Proven experience working as a peer support worker, demonstrating a commitment to recovery-oriented principles.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of mental health policies and legislation that may impact service users.
  • Understanding the influence of stigma and discrimination on individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.
