We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Peer Support Worker to join our Community Mental Health team at West London NHS Trust. As a Senior Peer Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing formalized peer support and practical assistance to individuals with mental health problems, helping them to engage with their local communities and access available support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide peer support and guidance to individuals with mental health problems, using your personal lived experience to inform your practice.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring that individuals receive holistic care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of group work interventions, promoting social inclusion and community engagement.
  • Support the development of peer-led initiatives and projects, empowering individuals to take an active role in their recovery and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring that individual progress and outcomes are tracked and evaluated.
Requirements
  • Formal peer support accredited training and completion of peer support work competencies as defined by ImROC.
  • Personal lived experience of mental health distress and experience of accessing primary or secondary mental health services.
  • Experience of working as a peer support worker and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Good understanding of recovery-focused principles and ability to support others in a recovery-oriented way.
  • Computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
