Job Overview

Main Responsibilities

The Trauma Coordinator will work closely with the Trauma and Orthopaedic team to manage orthopaedic trauma admissions to St Thomas Hospital. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice to nursing and MDT teams on pre and post-operative patient management
  • Coordinating care between the two sites (Guys and St Thomas')
  • Acting as a point of contact for patients not within the footprint of the orthopaedic ward
  • Liaising with subspecialties to coordinate care

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • NMC registration
  • Extensive experience in the speciality
  • Advanced physical assessment skills
  • Teaching/mentorship qualification

Desirable criteria include being an independent prescriber, certified speciality courses, and leadership qualifications.
