Job Overview

The Major Trauma Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the multidisciplinary After Trauma Team, ensuring seamless patient pathways from admission to discharge for patients with highly complex traumatic injuries.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care across the hospital, including acute settings and community rehabilitation.
  • Liaise with families, neuro navigators, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate patient transfers and ensure optimal care.
  • Contribute to data collection and maintain patient lists, supporting the Trauma Follow-up clinic and working closely with A&E, ITU, HDU, and wards.
  • Act as a keyworker, providing a point of contact for patients and relatives, and facilitating communication between healthcare teams.
  • Participate in practice development and education roles, collaborating with therapy services and clinical nurse specialists.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess a BSc (Hons) in a relevant field, be state registered, and have evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in trauma specialties.

Desirable criteria include postgraduate qualifications, leadership training, and experience in completing Major Trauma Rehabilitation Prescriptions and NMTR data sets.
