Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Recovery and Intervention Officer to join our team at Hillside Secure Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 12-17 years, who are in need of a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Home, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the well-being and safety of young people.
- Undertake tasks and work with young people to promote positive change in their behaviour, attitude, and coping mechanisms.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, to meet the unique needs of each young person.
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and role-modeling to young people, promoting their social, emotional, and educational development.
- Participate in regular team meetings, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure the highest standards of care and support.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including training and education, to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as child development, trauma-informed care, and behaviour management.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with young people in a residential setting, preferably within a secure or therapeutic environment.
- Qualifications in a relevant field, such as social work, youth work, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work flexibly, including shift work, weekend duties, and sleeping-in duties on a rota basis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, with a strong understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
