Job Summary

AWE Plc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Programme, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects while working collaboratively with project teams and the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead Quality Assurance activities, collaborating with project teams and suppliers to deliver new build projects.
  • Contribute to a positive Quality Culture from project kick-off to handover, engaging with all stakeholders.
  • Support supplier mobilization and integration post-contract award.
  • Represent AWE as the Intelligent Client at key stakeholder meetings, including design and technical reviews.
  • Task manage, mentor, train, and coach Quality Engineers.
  • Lead Quality Assurance at key stakeholder meetings and deputize for the Senior/Principal Quality Manager when required.
  • Review supplier Quality Plans and support wider project artifact reviews.
  • Conduct and lead internal project and supplier capability audits.
  • Lead workshops to promote performance improvement and present quality data to key stakeholders.
  • Manage and review supplier surveillance and Quality Control activities, including ITPs and FAT activities.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) using root cause analysis quality tools.
  • Facilitate Learning from Experience workshops and seek cost efficiencies and simplification opportunities.
  • Manage and review Lifetime Records.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of influencing and engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in construction, capital project delivery, or engineering is required.
  • Relevant BTEC HNC/HND or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
  • Membership of a recognized related professional body, or working towards, e.g., CQI/IRCA.
  • ISO9001 Lead Auditor trained and relevant audit experience.
  • Good knowledge of national and international quality standards, e.g., ISO9001, AQAP-2110.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process and cost efficiencies/improvements.
  • Technical knowledge for high-integrity structures, systems, and components.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Use of problem-solving and improvement tools.
  • Working on a nuclear-licensed site or within the nuclear industry or similar highly regulated industry.
  • Experience of a graded approach to quality, e.g., Quality Control Grades 1-5.
  • Working within an NEC framework for project delivery.
