About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager to lead our engineering team responsible for delivering a diverse programme of capital investment projects, including critical infrastructure like Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDs), as well as enhancements to Sewerage Treatment Works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Develop the Engineering Team: Plan and allocate resources effectively, recruit and develop talent, and ensure the team delivers high-quality engineering outputs.
  • Drive Innovation and Sustainability: Embrace new digital technologies and develop sustainable solutions to reduce carbon and protect natural capital, aligning with PAS 2080 principles.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Fulfil the role of CDM Principal Designer, championing a strong health, safety, and welfare culture within the team.
  • Collaborate and Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration to achieve project goals.
  • Deliver Excellence: Instil a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Engineering, preferably with Chartered Engineer status, and substantial experience in leading multi-disciplinary design teams on complex capital projects. Your expertise in fulfilling the responsibilities of a CDM Principal Designer will be crucial, ensuring safety and compliance across all design activities.
