Data Protection Specialist

Vattenfall is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our Risk, Project and Legal Governance department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting strategy execution through robust frameworks for decision making, management of risks and uncertainties, compliance and legal governance.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise Business Area Wind and its employees on obligations to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other data protection laws.
- Monitor implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with data protection legislation.
- Perform investigations into data protection breaches and undertake reporting and remedial action as needed.
- Manage data subject requests and establish BA standards for data protection agreements.
- Identify, analyse, manage and document high-risk processing activities by risk owners.
- Provide advice on mitigating risks around data protection processing activities.
- Develop the culture and ethos of data compliance across BA Wind.
- A bachelor's degree (or similar) in law, compliance, corporate governance or other relevant field.
- At least 5 years work experience in a large international corporation in the corporate governance or compliance area.
- A deep understanding of GDPR and data protection in the UK and EU with at least 3 years proven experience in the field.
- Visible and self-managing and able to work effectively as part of a virtual team.
- A strong communicator with excellent command of English both verbally and written; German is a plus.
