Are you passionate about data protection and compliance? Do you want to make a positive impact on a growing organization dedicated to renewable energy? We're looking for a skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our Risk, Project and Legal Governance department.

About the Role

As a Data Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for defining and establishing data protection standards within BA Wind and driving compliance-related activities. You will inform and advise Business Area Wind and its employees about obligations to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other data protection laws.

You will monitor implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines, and perform investigations into data protection breaches and undertake reporting and remedial action as needed. You will also manage data subject requests and establish BA standards for data protection agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and establish data protection standards within BA Wind
  • Inform and advise Business Area Wind and its employees on GDPR and data protection laws
  • Monitor implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Perform investigations into data protection breaches and undertake reporting and remedial action
  • Manage data subject requests
  • Establish BA standards for data protection agreements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in law, compliance, corporate governance, or a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a large international corporation in the corporate governance or compliance area
  • A deep understanding of GDPR and data protection in the UK and EU with at least 3 years of proven experience in the field
  • Visible and self-managing, with the ability to work effectively as part of a virtual team
  • A strong communicator with excellent command of English, both verbally and written; German is a plus
