About the Role

As a Data Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for defining and establishing data protection standards within BA Wind and driving compliance-related activities. You will inform and advise Business Area Wind and its employees about obligations to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other data protection laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Monitor and report compliance with data protection legislation
  • Perform investigations into data protection breaches and undertake reporting and remedial action as needed
  • Manage data subject requests
  • Establish BA standards for data protection agreements
  • Ensure high-risk processing activities are identified, analyzed, managed, and documented by risk owners
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree (or similar) in law, compliance, corporate governance, or other relevant field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a large international corporation in the corporate governance or compliance area
  • A deep understanding of GDPR and data protection in the UK and EU with at least 3 years of proven experience in the field
  • Visible and self-managing, able to work effectively as part of a virtual team
  • A strong communicator with excellent command of English, both verbally and written; German is a plus
