Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our Risk, Project, and Legal Governance department. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting strategy execution through robust frameworks for decision-making, risk management, compliance, and legal governance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and establishing data protection standards in BA Wind and driving compliance-related activities. This includes informing and advising Business Area Wind and its employees on obligations to comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other data protection laws.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing a privacy control framework for BA Wind
- Overseeing training of BA Wind employees on data protection
- Monitoring implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Monitoring and reporting compliance with data protection legislation
- Performing investigations into data protection breaches and undertaking reporting and remedial action as needed
- Managing data subject requests
- Establishing BA standards for data protection agreements
- Ensuring legally required documentation is in place and updated
- Identifying, analyzing, managing, and documenting high-risk processing activities
- Providing advice on mitigating risks around data protection processing activities
- Providing advice following data processing audits and data breaches
- Developing a culture and ethos of data compliance across BA Wind
- Acting as the contact point on high-risk issues related to the processing of personal data

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in law, compliance, corporate governance, or a relevant field
- At least 5 years of work experience in a large international corporation in the corporate governance or compliance area
- A deep understanding of GDPR and data protection in the UK and EU, with at least 3 years of proven experience in the field
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work in a structured way
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build a positive culture around data protection
Location
The possible locations for this position are Amsterdam, Hamburg, Hexham, London, or Stockholm. Regular business trips are required.
