About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intensive Care Consultant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Medicine service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit and Acute Assessment Units.
  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Contribute to the development of our Acute Medicine service, including the design and implementation of new care pathways.
  • Participate in on-call rota and provide senior cover for our Same Day Emergency Care area.
  • Collaborate with our specialist teams, including Respiratory, Cardiology, and Diabetes clinics.

Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC and a valid license to practice.
  • FFICM or EDIC & MRCP or equivalent.
  • Entry on to the specialist register in ICM & GIM or eligibility within 6 months.
  • Possession of / eligibility for Fellowship / Associate Fellowship of Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.
