About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team in Manchester. As a key member of our electrical services design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical services design on large projects and oversee overall MEP on small to medium-sized projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other professionals.
  • Define and agree briefs with clients, ensuring a clear understanding of project requirements.
  • Represent Hoare Lea at project meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage and prioritize the workload of a project team, including specialist groups.
  • Host and chair internal project team meetings, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
  • Contribute to the professional development of individual team members, providing guidance and support.
  • Actively lead self and identify opportunities for career development, providing support for others.
  • Monitor project expenditure and reporting to team leaders, ensuring financial management and control.
  • Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy are delivered, maintaining high-quality electrical design solutions.
Requirements
  • Excellent technical knowledge in Electrical Design Engineering and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.
  • Previous consultancy experience, appreciating the importance of complementary specialisms such as sustainability, intelligent buildings, fire engineering, and acoustics in the design of buildings.
  • Autonomous approach, able to lead small to medium-sized projects and take a brief from the project lead on large projects, delivering and controlling tasks required.
  • Appreciation of client needs, with the ability to face clients and understand their requirements.
  • Understand and identify resource needs, ensuring effective project management.
  • Mentor and supervise junior members of staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Chartered engineer or close to depending on grade.
