M Group Services is seeking a skilled Commercial Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Department, you will play a crucial role in maximizing profit and reducing risk on our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze data to prepare reports and claims to agreed timescales.
  • Assist in the implementation of commercial applications and develop lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
  • Monitor project risk management plans and ensure accurate, high-level risk assessments.
  • Manage sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliant quotations and documentation.
  • Develop knowledge of commercial issues and contract law to manage compensation events and claims.
  • Improve processes for increased accuracy and efficiency, minimizing time-consuming tasks.
  • Liaise with Commercial Managers and Quantity Surveyors to ensure commercial cover is maintained.
  • Assist in recovering contract costs and enhancing project profit by identifying variations, delays, and claims.
  • Produce monthly project financial and forecast reports for analysis.
  • Develop sound negotiating skills and attend handover and progress meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of a site commercial manual and documents.
Requirements
  • Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial awareness.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Contract costing and contract law knowledge.
  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Clerk roles.
  • Contract experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations.
  • Sub Contract Management and Cost / value reconciliation skills.
  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying and Graduate or "graduate calibre".
  • Full UK driving license.
