About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Skilled Despatch Operative at our Brackley site. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of products through our warehouse.

42 hours per week, 4 ON 4 OFF – 18:00 – 06:00
About the Job:
As a Skilled Despatch Operative, you will be responsible for receiving, picking, and loading out of chilled food products. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment, which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas. You will be required to carry out temperature and cleanliness checks of refrigerated trailers, operate scanning guns to work with our systems, and pick various products in line with customer demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving, picking, and loading out of chilled food products
- Carrying out temperature and cleanliness checks of refrigerated trailers
- Operating scanning guns to work with our systems
- Picking various products in line with customer demand
- Making up of pallets to a set standard
- Moving pallets in the warehouse using Powered pallet trucks, counterbalance fork lift trucks, and Very Narrow Isle trucks
- Ensuring the area is controlled, clean, and tidy, and aligned with our GMP standards
- Covering for technical operators in their absence
- Following instructions on a daily basis from the Process Leader to maintain an effective process
- Being aware of, understanding, and adhering to health and safety procedures and set standards
- Being aware of, understanding, and adhering to food hygiene procedures and set standards
- Ensuring information is treated as confidential
- Participating and promoting the Avara Vision and Values
- Complying with and promoting all Avara policies and procedures
- Ensuring that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures are properly managed and adhered to at all times
- Ensuring that food safety, integrity, legality, and quality applies at all times and in all areas of our business
- Ensuring that delivery of agreed SLA standards is maintained where appropriate
- Participating as necessary in appropriate shifts and on-call duty rotas, if applicable
Requirements:
- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
- Experience within a warehouse environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
