About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned Real-Time Optimization professional to join our team at MatchaTalent. As a key member of our Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to optimize refinery operations using real-time optimization technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Streamline Real-Time Optimization Objectives: Develop program best practices and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to improve performance.
  • Conduct Real-Time Optimizations: Enhance efficiency and reduce costs in refinery operations.
  • Analyze Data: Identify improvement opportunities from various sources, including process variables, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Implement Advanced Process Control Strategies: Optimize refinery operations and maximize the yield of desired products.
  • Lead Development of New Strategies: Conduct feasibility studies and establish business cases for new optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Develop and implement real-time optimization solutions with engineers, operators, and vendors.
  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Real-Time Optimization Systems: Ensure smooth and reliable operation.
  • Stay Updated with Latest Advancements: Continuously improve refinery operations by staying current with the latest real-time optimization techniques and technologies.
  • Provide Technical Support and Training: Offer expertise on real-time optimization systems and processes to engineers, operators, and other personnel.
  • Perform Periodic Assessments and Evaluations: Gauge the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization solutions.
  • Identify and Address Potential Risks: Safeguard against safety, environmental, and reliability risks associated with real-time optimization processes.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Develop and implement long-term improvement plans for refinery operations.
  • Conduct Benchmarks and Business Case Studies: Evaluate new advanced process control technologies, such as Machine Learning and AI, to contribute to yield improvement.
  • Lead Technical Sessions: Facilitate design reviews, model reviews, and commissioning.
  • Lead Pre- and Post-Performance Baseline Evaluations: Assess plant operations and recommend actions for improvements and system optimization.
  • Review Standards and General Instructions: Act as a leading Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GME departments.
Requirements
  • Permanent Relocation: The candidate must be willing to relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control or Real-Time Optimization.
  • Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in advanced process control solutions and refinery economics.
  • Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of refinery facilities, feedstock/product movements, margins, giveaways, process yields, and mass and energy balances is essential.
  • Familiarity: Familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control and process modeling.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process solutions.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams.
