Job Title: Senior Residential Child Care Worker
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Residential Child Care Worker to join our team at Field View Care Recruitment Solutions. As a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized care and support to children, including assistance with daily living tasks, emotional support, and guidance.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with the child's family and other professionals.
- Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to child care and protection.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, therapists, and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a safe and supportive living environment.
- Document and report on child progress, including any concerns or issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care or equivalent.
- Supervisory/shift lead experience in a residential child care setting.
- Knowledge of the Children Act and National Minimum Standards for residential special schools.
- Driving qualification (mini bus) is desirable.
- Good working knowledge of ICT to support learning.
- Ability to confidently use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Current car driving license and flexibility to use own car to transport students, if required.
- Ability to use clear language to communicate information unambiguously.
- Initiative to overcome communication barriers with children and adults.
- Consult with children and their families and carers and other adults.
- Ability to apply a range of behavior management policies and strategies.
- Understanding of child development and learning processes.
- Ability to assess and record progress and recommend strategies to support development.
- Understanding of child protection procedures and data protection and confidentiality.
