We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Secondary schools across Newport.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Psychology and experience working with students with Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a school setting, ideal for those considering a career in Educational Psychology or related fields.

Role Details:

  • Estimated salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
  • Location: Newport, South Wales

In this role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualised support to students with varying levels of SEN.

You will be responsible for delivering targeted interventions, participating in IEP meetings, and engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance your SEN skills and expertise.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Psychology
  • Experience working with students with SEMH, Autism, or ADHD (desirable but not essential)
  • A strong understanding of supporting children and young people with SEN
