About the Role

Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. As a key member of our community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of children and vulnerable individuals as they cross the road around schools during peak hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with children, adults, and other road users to maintain a safe and orderly environment at designated crossing points.
  • Operate in accordance with strict guidelines set by Southwark Council and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon during school term time (10 hours per week).
  • Consider job sharing where practical.
