Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Advanced Care Specialist to join our team at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of innovative services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a Registered Healthcare Professional with a Clinical Based Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. As an independent Non-Medical Prescriber, you will practice at an advanced level, demonstrating expertise in acute care within the patient's home setting. Your role will involve providing clinical advice and support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, as well as developing audit and research projects within your sphere of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing expert professional and independent clinical care to patients referred to or managed by the Virtual Ward service
  • Developing and implementing departmental policies, protocols, and guidelines in line with national guidance and contemporary evidence
  • Participating in clinical supervision and maintaining awareness of relevant research evidence
  • Designing, coordinating, and undertaking collaborative audit, research, and development into Oncology and related practices
  • Planning, delivering, and implementing programmes of education and training for trainee ACPs, nurses, medical, and other disciplines
Requirements
  • Current NMC Registration first-level Nurse essential
  • Clinical Based Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Registered Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
  • Teaching/supervision and assessment skills
  • Leadership Qualification
  • Up-to-date Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Substantial post-registration experience of which significant experience is within Emergency/Acute/General Medicine Care at a senior level
  • Evidence of extensive expert professional/clinical knowledge in Emergency/Acute/General medical care supplemented by specialist clinical training and CPD
