We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Neonatal Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to critically ill newborns and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate shifts in the neonatal unit, ensuring seamless care delivery and effective communication with the team.
- Provide expert clinical guidance and support to junior staff, pre-registration student nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
- Participate in education and training programs to stay up-to-date with the latest neonatal care practices and research.
- Registered Children's Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Registered Midwife qualification.
- Specialty qualification in neonatal nursing.
- Teaching and assessing qualification.
- Recent experience at senior staff nurse level within neonatal nursing.
- Evidence of clinical competence in neonatal nursing skills.
- Evidence of ability to assume a lead clinical role.
- Understanding of the setting and monitoring of standards.
- Evidence of teaching and developing staff.
- Demonstrable clinical skills in neonatal nursing.
- Ability to make clinical decisions.
- Ability to manage the care of neonatal conditions, including intensive, high dependency, and special care.
- Neonatal IV therapy, venepuncture, and cannulation skills.
- Ability to obtain and evaluate information to aid decision making and to develop others in this area.
- IT skills, including word processing, email, and internet.
- NMC Regulations.
- NHS Modernisation initiatives.
- Understanding of Child protection awareness.
- Knowledge of clinical governance agenda.
- Awareness of clinical risk and quality issues.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Motivated.
