Job Title: General Practice Clinical Pharmacist

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in General Practice. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines in our GP practices.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for providing clinical expertise and guidance to GP practices, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and that prescribing practices are safe and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to GP practices on prescribing and medicines use
  • Conduct clinical audits and patient-facing medication reviews to promote high-quality prescribing
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to improve prescribing practices
  • Provide expert advice on prescribing and medicines use to GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Support the delivery of safe, clinically effective, and cost-effective prescribing practices
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent, and be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain. You will also need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals.
