Care Companion

As a Care Companion, you will be working with older clients in their own homes to provide support and enable them to continue living independently. This is a rewarding role that requires a caring and empathetic attitude.
You will work on your own initiative and as part of a team to deliver high-quality care services. Good listening and communication skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
This position involves undertaking a wide range of domestic tasks for older people, including general domestic duties, shopping, medical appointments, and social activities. You will also need to co-operate with service users' carers, relatives, and health service workers.
Duties and Responsibilities- General domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Accompanying service users to medical appointments and other engagements
- Providing companionship and emotional support to service users
- Maintaining accurate records of service user interactions and activities
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A caring and empathetic attitude towards older people
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Good listening and communication skills
- The ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
- Basic IT skills and proficiency in using electronic records systems
- A valid driver's license and business insurance
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum, plus mileage allowance and bonuses for completing online training and referring friends to work for Age UK. We also offer 4 weeks' holiday per year, pro rata, and enhanced DBS checks.
