Mental Health Practitioner Job Description:

We are recruiting a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in working with new mothers and families, providing mental health support and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to the needs of new and expectant mothers in a timely manner, dealing with crises and emergencies while supporting routine and preventative care.
  2. Undertake assessments in various settings, focusing on risk assessment, robust mental health care planning, and safeguarding.
  3. Work collaboratively with colleagues in maternity services, health visiting, children's centres, and children's services.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with an appropriate professional body (e.g., Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Registered General Nurse).
  • Training to level 3 in Safeguarding Children and Young People: roles and competencies for Healthcare Staff or willingness to undertake training.
