Job Description

Job Title: Team Leader - Residential Operations Manager

Job Summary:

SuperCare Residential is seeking an experienced and adaptable Team Leader to manage operations at a new residential children's home. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading shifts, formulating support plans for young people, and fostering their overall welfare in accordance with the Children Act 1989.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shift Leadership: Lead a shift and ensure the smooth operation of the home, including direct work with young people, key working, and providing support and care on a shift work basis.
  • Support Planning: Formulate support plans with young people, construct packages of support to meet their needs, and promote their physical, emotional, and social welfare.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Work in partnership with young people, their social worker, carers, and other relevant agencies to co-ordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans, risk assessments, and placement plans.
  • Establishment Management: Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, including health and safety, primary care issues, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative work and record keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Young People's Development: Ensure that young people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can reasonably and demonstrably be expected to carry, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning their lives, supporting them, and helping them towards taking greater control and responsibility.

Household Responsibilities:

  • Shared Responsibilities: Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House, including caring for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Financial Management: Be accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes and report repairs, ensuring necessary actions are taken.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety checks are complete in line with policies and Ofsted regulations and standards.

Personal Development:

  • Professional Development: Keep abreast of good practice in order to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
  • Supervision: Make use of regular professional supervision.
  • Reporting: Report to a line manager, or other appropriate person, malpractice or evidence which may suggest it.

Additional Duties:

  • Flexibility: Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management, including working shifts, including weekends and bank holidays on a Rota basis as required.
  • Teamwork: Work at other SuperCare properties as directed by management.
