Policy and Deputy Registrar

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). As a Policy and Deputy Registrar, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of the Register of Approved Driving Instructors and making sound, evidence-based decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Deputy Registrar, supporting the ADI Registrar in assessing decisions that impact the Register of Approved Driving Instructors.
- Work closely with the ADI Registrar and Central Policy to develop policy and associated products, from inception of legislation through to implementation.
- Champion and support continuous improvement of the service, building a programme of future developments, providing an evidence-based approach to consider customer benefits, costings, service specifications, and anticipated service improvements.
- Determine and plan team requirements, including allocating resources and prioritizing activities, over the short to medium term by fully understanding the business environment in which the team operates, the overall team objectives, ensuring the team fully understands and works to these requirements.
- Engage regularly with both internal and external stakeholders, to understand their needs and champion the ADI service provision.
- Knowledge of the UK regulatory model and legal system.
- Understanding of the role of the ADI Registrar and the policy that affects delivery and design.
- Ability to interpret policy and its implications for the operational environment.
- Appreciation for strategic and financial planning with the ability to analyze data from a range of sources to enable policy development.
This role can be based in one of our locations, and you will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your time at your base location. We operate a hybrid working model, giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
