Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Waste Expert to join our team at Rolls-Royce Submarines Limited in Derby. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the EPR Radioactive Substances Regulations and relevant aspects of the Installations permits and Site Licence conditions.

About the Role
This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with our manufacturing teams to optimize disposal routes for radioactive wastes and conventional wastes, including permitted discharges. You will also be responsible for characterizing materials and items, as well as supporting the effective deployment of company-wide policies, processes, systems and procedures ensuring that at all times the business remains compliant.

What We Offer
In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts. Hybrid working is also available, allowing you to balance your time between the office, home, or another remote location.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent in a relevant discipline, or hold or be working towards a professional qualification in a relevant area. Significant experience working on Nuclear Licensed Sites in the areas of Radioactive Waste and Environmental Management is desirable, as is holding or being willing to work towards Radioactive Waste Advisor status.
