About the Role
Austin Fraser is partnering with Lancashire County Council to recruit a Science Technician for the Preston area.
- Maintaining equipment and apparatus in good working condition
- Constructing, modifying, and setting up experiments and demonstrations
- Providing technical support to pupils and students in a safe environment
- Ordering resources and materials as required
- Assisting in practical lessons and laboratory activities
- Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety protocols and cleanliness standards
- Developing positive relationships with children and adults
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment and apparatus in excellent working order
- Design and build apparatus as needed
- Set up experiments and demonstrations safely and efficiently
- Provide expert technical support to pupils and students
- Source and procure resources and materials
- Support teaching staff in practical lessons
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Foster strong relationships with children and adults
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar science-related role
- Recent experience working in a school or similar educational setting
- A hardworking and flexible individual who can use initiative
- Experience with Health & Safety and cleanliness protocols
- A commitment to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable individuals
