About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communication and Science Lead to join our team at the National Nuclear Laboratory. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of effective communications strategies that showcase the science, technology, and innovation at our core.

This role requires a strong background in Science and Technology, with experience in technical and/or scientific environments. You will be responsible for defining clear and consistent messages, taking complex content to simple effective communications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy that amplifies NNL's science and technology capabilities consistently across all internal and external communications channels.
  • Define and deliver an integrated communications plan to communicate key science and technology areas in NNL.
  • Be a proactive and enthusiastic member of the NNL comms and public affairs team and develop strong relationships with the S&T community.
  • Identify rich content from within the organisation and use it to write, edit, design and deliver engaging content for distribution across various internal and external communications channels.
  • Define clear and consistent communication messages for various internal and external audiences based on a sound understanding of target audience groups.
  • Create high-quality and creative campaigns to showcase the variety of science, technology and innovation delivered by our organisation to various audiences.
  • Deliver a strong and timely pipeline of planned communication activity that provides proof points to reinforce NNL's strategy and focus areas and ensure NNL is visible to the right stakeholders.
  • Lead the production of key science engagement activities and publications, including webcasts, case studies, reports, videos and articles.
