Practice Development Midwife Supporting International Midwives

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinical midwife to join our team as a Practice Development Midwife Supporting International Midwives. This is a fixed-term contract for 1 year, part-time, 18.75 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for providing leadership and clinical advice to support and promote excellence in safe, evidenced-based practice for our international midwives. They will assist the service in supporting our international midwives in clinical practice, developing their confidence and competence as well as their transition to working in the UK.

The postholder will work closely with the Practice Development Team, providing teaching, support, and pastoral care to Internationally Educated and Recruited Midwives (IEM) throughout their pre-registration and Preceptorship period. In addition, they will support the Maternity unit in its training and development programmes for all clinical staff.

Requirements
  • Registered practising midwife currently on NMC Register
  • Mentorship or teaching accreditation: ENB 997 or equivalent, SSSA supervisor and assessor
  • Clinical teaching
  • Teaching qualification such as PGCE

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £51,883 to £58,544 per annum (inclusive of HCAS)
