Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Practitioner to join our team as a Consultant in Geriatrics with Special Interest.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fully registered Medical Practitioner with a strong background in Geriatric Medicine.
  • MRCP qualification and within 6 months of receiving CCST in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Within 6 months of receiving CCST in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine.
  • Post-graduate qualification and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Formal Specialist Registrar training in Geriatric and General Medicine.
  • Specialist interest in one area of Geriatric Medicine.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Active and ongoing interest in research and audit.
  • Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities and waiting lists.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
  • Ability to teach clinical and procedural skills.
  • Resident within a reasonable travel time of the hospital or equivalent access.
  • Multidisciplinary team experience.
  • Enquiring, critical approach to problems.
  • Commitment to continuing medical education.
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels.
Requirements
  • MRCP qualification.
  • CCST in Geriatric Medicine within 6 months.
  • CCST in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine within 6 months.
