Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Specialist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fully registered Medical Practitioner with a strong background in Geriatric Medicine and Acute Internal Medicine.
  • Within 6 months of receiving CCST in Geriatric Medicine and Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine.
  • Post-graduate qualification and publications in peer-reviewed journals are desirable.
  • Formal Specialist Registrar training in Geriatric and General Medicine is essential.
  • Specialist interest in one area of Geriatric Medicine and ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Active and ongoing interest in research and audit.
  • Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities and waiting lists, manage and lead a team, and teach clinical and procedural skills.
  • Resident within a reasonable travel time of the hospital or equivalent access.
  • Multidisciplinary team experience, enquiring and critical approach to problems, commitment to continuing medical education, and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities.
Requirements
  • MRCP qualification.
  • CCST in Geriatric Medicine and Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine within 6 months.
