We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Practitioner to join our team as a Consultant in Geriatrics with a Special Interest. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Geriatric Medicine and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fully registered Medical Practitioner with a strong background in Geriatric Medicine
  • MRCP qualification and within 6 months of receiving CCST in Geriatric Medicine
  • Within 6 months of receiving CCST in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine
  • Post-graduate qualification and publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Formal Specialist Registrar training in Geriatric and General Medicine
  • Specialist interest in one area of Geriatric Medicine
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
  • Active and ongoing interest in research and audit
  • Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities and waiting lists
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
  • Interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
  • Ability to teach clinical and procedural skills
  • Resident within a reasonable travel time of the hospital or equivalent access
  • Multidisciplinary team experience
  • Enquiring, critical approach to problems
  • Commitment to continuing medical education
  • Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities at local, regional or national levels
Requirements
  • MRCP qualification
  • CCST in Geriatric Medicine within 6 months
  • CCST in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine within 6 months
