Service Delivery Specialist

Job RoleThis role is a key position in our team, focusing on designing and implementing services for the development team. As a Senior member, you will be responsible for sharing your knowledge with others to ensure high-quality code across the team.
Job Description:
As a Services Engineer, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and deployment of live service code base. You will participate in peer code reviews and implement live service features considering performance and scalability. You will collaborate with other disciplines to gather requirements for live service features and establish online service features such as matchmaking, friends, and commerce.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement services for the development team
- Share knowledge with others to ensure high-quality code across the team
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and deployment of live service code base
- Participate in peer code reviews
- Implement live service features considering performance & scalability.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (design, art, production) to gather requirements for live service features
- Establish online service features such as matchmaking, friends, and commerce
- Support less experienced team members, mentoring them, and raising the standards of the whole Engineering team
- Champion quality within Lighthouse Games and our online services development
- Actively take part in our collaborative and creative team spirit
To be successful in this role, you should have experience working closely with design and technical teams to implement robust and scalable online services. You should also have demonstrable experience in planning and development of large bodies of work with minimal supervision.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working closely with design and technical teams to implement robust and scalable online services
- Demonstrable experience of planning and development of large bodies of work, with minimal supervision
- Examples of clean and robust code, following all standards and guidelines, including the use of automated testing processes
- Experience in risk awareness: Be aware of risks in your work and the wider project, and actively mitigate them
- Experience with mentoring engineers at both junior and midlevel.
Lighthouse Games offers a competitive package, including a base salary, discretionary annual bonus, private medical insurance, company pension scheme, and 25 days holiday + Christmas shutdown.
Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per year, depending on experience.
