Job Title: Healthcare Support Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies at all times.
- Register patients for outpatient procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient data entry.
- Schedule appointments, confirm details, and book follow-up tests or procedures as needed.
- Perform reception duties, triage incoming calls, and provide administrative support.
- Ensure filing, charting, and appointment sheets are up-to-date.
- Sort and distribute mail, faxes, and emails.
- Complete unit statistics, census reports, and staffing logs.
- Stock and reorder supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Medical Office Administration from an accredited institution.
- Medical terminology certificate.
- Intermediate skill level in MS Word, Excel, spelling, medical spelling, and medical terminology.
- Clerical testing may be required.
- Current work experience in a hospital setting with patient registration and booking software.
- Epic experience preferred.
What We Offer:
- A competitive hourly wage: $30.14-$31.37 (plus 14% in lieu).
Estimated Salary Range: $43,919 - $46,146 per annum.
