**Job Summary**
We are seeking a skilled Anaesthesia Specialist to join our team at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.
As an Anaesthesia Assistant-in-Training, you will participate in the care of surgical patients during general, regional, or conscious sedation under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
You will obtain pre-anesthetic health histories, perform preoperative physical exams, establish non-invasive and invasive monitors, administer medications, and evaluate life-threatening situations.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- A 3-year diploma in Respiratory Therapy
- Advanced Anaesthesia Assistant Diploma
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- 1-3 years of experience
Responsibilities include administering prescribed pharmacologic drugs, managing anesthetic depth, performing airway management, and assisting with difficult airway management.
You will also assist in patient preparation for surgery, perform pre-operative assessments, and establish routine monitoring methods.
In addition, you will evaluate life-threatening situations, assist with protocols established within BLS and ACLS, provide clinical teaching and mentoring, and complete documentation as per clinical standards.
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
