The County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our team.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner to provide high-quality patient care within the perioperative environment. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing care needs, developing programmes of care, and implementing and evaluating these programmes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the monitoring of standards of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Participate in direct care needs of patients, providing expert knowledge of all clinical specialties and acting as a role model.
  • Participate in audit and monitoring accurate documentation in accordance with Trust policy, NMC, and HPC guidelines.
  • Be competent in facilitating an emergency service covering all specialties provided within the department, during elective and non-elective periods.
  • Ensure the safe administration of drugs in accordance with Trust Policy, and NMC and HPC guidelines.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Existing experience as a scrub practitioner.
  • Registered with NMC or HCPC.

Desirable

  • Scrub or Anaesthetic Recovery experience.
  • Computer skills, specific skills relevant to the area of practice, recruitment, and selection skills.
