About the Role

Oxford University Press is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Editor to join our team. As a key member of our editorial team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality content that meets the needs of our customers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of pedagogically effective content for our products, working closely with authors and writers to ensure that our content is engaging, informative, and meets the needs of our customers.
  • Managing and developing a team of content development editors, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to deliver high-quality content to the highest standards.
  • Working collaboratively with our product development team to research, plan, and manage the development of new products, ensuring that they are innovative, exciting, and meet the needs of our customers.

We operate a hybrid working policy, which requires a minimum of 2 days per week in our Oxford office. We offer a range of benefits, including 25 days' holiday, a 35-hour working week, and a pension scheme.

About You

  • You will have substantial experience in developing multi-modal teaching and learning content, with a strong background in editorial experience in educational publishing.
  • You will have excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with authors, writers, and other stakeholders.
  • You will have a deep understanding of educational teaching and learning requirements, with the ability to develop content that meets the needs of our customers.
  • You will be adaptable to a changing work environment and global market, with a flexible and open-minded approach to work.

Please note that this is a 6-month fixed-term role, covering maternity leave, with the possibility of an extension. As an internal candidate, you must discuss the opportunity and gain approval with your line manager/department in advance of submitting an application.
